Will Techron impact synthetic oil?

Okay, I have read enough on oil and the old standard versus synthetic data, so with that I am about to take the plunge and leave behind my Valvoline 20-50W Turbo IV for Mobil 1 Synthetic.
The claim of lower temps, better lubrication, longer engine life and "happy days are here again" took hold.

With that, can the occasional addition of my favorite injector and cylinder cleaner, Chevron Techron, a petroleum distillate impact the synthetic oil properties? With synthectic oil changes every 7,500 miles, a quart + of techron would be added over that period of time. Hey, thats a bunch.

Am I all washed up on this one, or do I have a valid concern?

Regards
Bob

I read that frequent oil changes can cause more wear than less frequent oil changes. You should try for 10-20,000 miles on synthetic. There is a site on oil changes and Grass Roots Motorsports had an article on extended life oil changes. I think as long as you change the oil filter every 5-6 months and keep enough oil in the case you should be good. The additives are usually burned off so they don't contaminate oil unless you have lose rings or are over rich.

I also heard that Mobil 1 is not as good as it used to be. I switched to Red Line 10-40. It has a higher vopor point and higher flamability point.

Techron like other petroleum distillate based cleaners does weep through the rings at it washes the cyclinders. It makes its way down to the oil pan. You can smell the stuff on your dip stick and it does thin out the oil. Years ago, when the PCA was hailing this stuff, Porsche put out a bulletin that recommended a change in oil within 500 miles of Techron use, or there abouts. Made sense, since it could impact seals. Its strong stuff, so if oil changes are recommended over 10K + with synthetics, I have to wonder what happens to the synthetic when its mixed with a distillate like Techron.....

Any data available?

Ok a post like this confused the hell out of me. I know these engine need more care then other engine...but oil and injector cleaner dont help each other? I thought the norm was Mobile 1 and Techron?

Simple common sense solution is put the Techtron in about two tank fulls of fuel before your next oil change. It does its job and gets out of Dodge.

Rick, I was looking at the Amsoil site and they reprinted an article about extended drin intervals.
http://www.superiorlubrication.com/amsoil/lit/lng_article/index.htm

Click the extended drain interval title. The article is in a trade magizine on why Americans throw away their oil so soon. It seems that the additive package is not fully functioning untill a few thousand miles. Click the Lubes and Greases article, page 3 third column on Phosphorous additive.
