Which engine do you have?
The year makes a difference as after 1979 you generally need all of the lambda controls as well as the engine.

'75 is CA smog exempt, the '80-83 3.0 will do just fine without any of the lambda/o2 stuff.

Ok, I thought it was '74 for the cut off. But then what do I know, I haven't ever had to smog test a vehicle where I live.

To the OP, other than a few wiring changes, any 3.0 should bolt right in as long as you have the right ignition set up for it. (6 pin CDI)
