to join local PCA or not?
hey i have been working on my p-car and teh idea came up in my head to join the local PCA chapter in louisian (whiskey bay). the reason i would want to join it is for the track events and the DE's and meeting other p-car owners in the area for helping out on the 911. well if anyone has had any bad experiences with PCA and warns me not to join or vice versa the advice is gladly accepted

Why not try it for a year, then make up your own mind? After all, the annual dues are about the same as a COSTCO membership here...

I think you should definitely join it. In my area the local PCA is the primary organizer of track events, swap meets, and such. I have met a lot of great folks.

Been a member for almost 10 years. DEs alone make it worth it, 10% discount from dealer and others sweeten the deal. Also get a nice mag with lots of P car specific info.

Check out this thread I started a while back when I was questioning joining - What's your impression of PCA?
I ended up joining. I have only really gone to 2 events in 3 months, conflicting schedule but I think it is a good opportunity to meet another Porsche owner.

I joined in1968 and never regretted a minute. Collecting Panorama is alone worth the dues.
Best, Grady

Join! It's dirt cheap, and if nothing else, the access to track events is worth the price without a doubt.

panorama looks to be worth it, whiskey bay is another question.
Someone said they were reorganizing, something about a death or something. Or someone was sick, bla bla bla I'd rather have a tank of gas |

I am pondering it as well. Since 2 responders in Colorado say it's a good thing I have decided to join. Do I need a "Roll Cage" to enter any event?
Guess I'll find out. 3 months and still ticket free! |

I just joined a month or so ago. Panorama is pretty cool and you get discounts at local Porsche Shops, but the website isn't that great. I always have a hard time navigating around in it.
