Today's trip in the Alps: With the SUN!

After last weeks drenched trip, we were luckier this time around. The highest pass was opened: the Nufenen, 2470 m.

The car behaved beautifully, execpt for a tendency to stall at higher altitude when warm, but that wasn't much of a bother.

Again some snow:

I had the radio delete plate falling off at every bump, so I rigged a support with 2 alloy plates behind:

This time she is not p*ssed at the car:

The picture doesn't show, but she is at 60+ here:

Of course, because life is never rosy, the rear window has decided to leak big time when we washed the car. So now the rear of the car has the "Eric McKenna treatment", and I have a new rear seal on order. I will go with a Thinner glass from a '92 964 RS, along with its seal.

Looks like a great day.

Might motivate me take a trip to Glacier Park. Going to the Sun Highway.

Beautiful photos again George. Magnificent.

One thing that shocks me a little is the idea of parking your car on the highway like that to snap a photo. Is there no risk of a truck running into the stopped car?

Jon,
The car is not parked; it is going at, ahem, exactly the speed limit, with MC at the wheel. You can't see her too well because the backrests of the Recaro A8 is higher than her head.

The bright light and fast shutter speed reduce the blur you'd normally see with that much movement.

Here's a photoshop trick to make the earlier photo look like the car is doing 'exactly the speed limit.'

Great pictures, George!

Keep this trip going forever, George. The Alps, the sun, the car are enough to paste a smile on my face when I go to sleep. Reminds me of younger and better days in Aspen.

George,
I travel to Switzerland a few times a year on business. Great place, great people. How far are you from Zurich?
