Finding a Stud
Does anyone know, is the stud that the tensioner is held on by available only from a dealer or is there another source? It is about 77mm long with different lenghts of threads on each end. Couldn't find anything on Pelican.

What do you mean tensioner, I have no tension. I'm a stud, I get my tension released as often as possible! Sheesh, what's up with this guy

PS, I looked and I couldn't find it, the closest I came was a stud labeled M8x60, but I don't think that's it.
Good luck, hopefully someone here has a spare in their garage that they can measure for you.

Sorry Steve, chain tensioner. One of the studs is stripped and needs to be replaced. I think that last sentence is only going to make this worse.

I think it is a M8x77. The threads on one side are 23mm long and the other side 17mm long.

Harry tried them and there M8's only go up to 60mm. If I could get it in a 90mm I could custom cut to correct lenght.

Have you tried a dealer to see what they want for one?
Is it #4 in the illustration below?

Harry thanks for the picture. It's the third stud above the number 3 next to the hole on the left side. The left chain tensioner thightens down on it.

Is that also item #4 in the lower diagram? Or is it the longer chain tensioner mounting stud?

If a steel head stud on a porsche is $25 from a Porsche dealer, I can't imagine this being any more than $10. And you need jus 1. I would just go the the dealer and get it, sure beats looking all over the place and not finding one. Sometimes, you just have to pay the piper.

David-I believe it's the longer one.
