How cold is your A/C??

Now that the weather is turning a bit warm (here in Cal. anyway), I was wondering what temps you guys are seeing out of your vents? Please include the following info:

Year and model of your car
Temp coming out of the vent
Temp outside the car
Any mods to your system
R134, R12, or Freeze 12
Do not stick the thermometer in the freezer before testing.

Was cruising down hwy 80 on Sunday. temp outside was about 89 and tried the AC for the first time in many months. No cool air I can tell you that. I think the temp coming out was in the 70s. Ran it for about 20 minutes, I am an optimist, in the end I gave up and rolled the windows down...
Worked last summer though.

88 Coupe running Sanden Compressor
I get very very low 50s if cruising below 95 F much worse in bad traffic. I removed evaporator and cleaned it up a bit and had the system recharged. Next plan is to go with Duracool and add underbelly condensor, probably deleting rear deck lid condensor to stop blowing hot air on a hot engine in the summer.

Mid to high 40s if I'm moving, sitting on the freeway will go to mid 50s.
This is when its 95 out
Some after market a/c with a small condensor in the tail lid I added some computer muffin fans to improve air flow when idling, helped a lot and at a total cost of $5.
What looks like a Griffiths condensor in the left rear wheel well (next to the cat of all places)
R-12 topped off with Freeze 12 a month ago.

taking out my AC may have not been the most thought out plan. my only saving grace, was that the condensor was shot. and my hoses were ripped. thinking of my next system today. my boring truck is looking very attractive this summer.

There'll prolly be a follow-up from me soon as I'm about to dive into AC land this afternoon as I blew refrigerant all the f*&# over my engine bay last Sat.

At least there's a heat-wave in LA right now!

Came with air......took it off last week !

If it get's too hot I'll steal the wife's 850 Turbo. If I have to, I'll drive the POS Pontiac Grand Prix (company car.....ugh!).

Stock A/C system with Duracool installed last year. I'm in the low 40's with outside temps in the mid 90's. Plan on adding the Performance Aire static condensor (underbelly), new drier-receiver, and new expansion valve, hopefully sometime this year. The Duracool definitely cools better than the R-12 that I was running.

We had a snow flurry here in Michigan yesterday. However by the end of the week it will be in the low 80's.

I don't need A/C, I don't need heat.......I just need to move out of the state.

Nope, you can delete your own post even if there are other posts below yours.

Here's the previous post that I just deleted

Quote:
Paul, you can actually delete a post by clicking "edit" in the bottom right corner of your post, checking the "Delete" box at the top of the post, and then clicking the "Delete Now" button in the other top corner of your post (opposite the delete post box that you checked). Of course at this point it's too late, I think. I think you can only delete a post if there is not another post after yours, but I'm not positive about that.

I can delete my post if it's too off topic for ya all. Give me the word and it's done.

No A/C it's broke, ready to pull it to save weight and say I did something useful.
