A few customers have experimented with this by swapping BMW DME computers with the ones used on the Porsche 944 and 911

does anyone know if a Bmw or 944 Dme will work on a 911 ?

Yes - someone must know.
With mods, some will work. At least I have not been 100% successful in converting them.

Hi Wayne,good article.
If i were to add anything, from experience of circuit board repair i prefer to remove the old solder from a dry joint then resolder using some fresh solder.
I use a "solder sucker" in my job they are easy to use and are quite cheap.
