How do I remove this?

I just pulled the A/C on my 1980 sc and there's a small 4" tab that comes up just to the right of the fan belt that attaches to the engine near the oil pressure sender. This tab is one of the supports for the compressor base. The tab appears to have an integrated nut where it attaches to the engine via a stud or a bolt coming from the inside out. How do I remove it? Is the nut really part of the tab?

Thanks, Graham

If I remember right it is not part of the tab but fastens the tab to an engine case stud. I had to loosen it to re align it to my AC bracket on reassembly. It's just a special nut. I used a series of wrenches and sockets. Box end was the one. Kind of a pain to get to.

Ya, it looks integrated, but it's not. But the bolt it comes off of seems to be part of the engine case, so I put mine back on just in case... It is a pain to get to unless you have removed the full A/C mount. And if you haven't you may as well as it's dead weight. Get ready for some finger busting getting out the lower nuts!!
