help me build some headlight relays, please.

ok, i know it is electrical, but i am going to ignore my gut instincts and try to do it myself. i bought some good relays, made by bosch. i had the choice between hellas and bosch, i went "made in germany".
there are five prongs. here is my plan:
terminal 30 will be 12v power direct from the battery.
terminal 85 to ground
here is where it gets confusing!
terminal 87 (there are two terminal 87's) goes to the factory plug in fuse box AFTER fuse right low beam.
the extra 87 goes left low beam.
terminal 86 to wire i took out of fuse box.
am i right? is it the wire on top or bottom of the fuse that i am messing with? i tossed my m sucro instructions along time ago.
please help. i think i am totally wrong. my plan is to do it like m sucros. the low beams on one relay, and the highbeam on another.

thanks
cliff

Cliff, this one looks pretty good. My friend used it when he upgraded his H4's.

Draft Headlight H4 Relay Article -- comments, critique?

Hopefully Ron (RoninLB) or Warren will chime in if you have any more questions. They are the electrical masters on the board.

success?

ok, the system works. let me run this by you pros.
85 to ground
30 to positive battery post
86 to top of headlight post in fuse box
87 wire from headlight post went here.

lights turned on! i did one relay to high and one to low beam.
i figured 86 and 87 just splice into existing system right?

the extra 87 post was unused.

that is funny, my install has more of a "birdnest" quality to it.

Take your relays back to the store, and spend $25 on the Sucro relay kit. It comes with everything you need, including excellent instructions on installation and wiring. Installation is simple.

Best $25 I ever spent on the car.

actually i did buy the sucro kit for my other car. but when i went shopping for relays, i found units of all different quality. i found some from mexico for $1.99. that is when i decided i could build my own. i wanted good relays, because i once fried my lighting on my jeep when a relay went south.

jpahemi, you crack me up. i ask for wiring instructions, i.e. where does terminal 30 go, etc. and you show me some pictures installed. that is like showing someone a picture of a turbo valve cover, who is asking valve adjusting questions. thanks, i will try that stern thing, but those bosch relays are the exact units i bought from my local auto parts store. exact part number and everything. i just need some instructions. the flowchart on the side of the relay you are holding may as well be in sandscript. i am that bad with electrical stuff. so far no electircal fire just yet. haha
