Nice.
Definitely an improvement over the 996.

What the Heck??? Is Porsche going bling?? Check out the rims in the third and fourth video. They don't move when the car is moving! Kind of like those spreewell rims that move when you stop, only in reverse.
Also, what's with the stalker footage. It's like he's hiding in someone's bushes and filming the car. Wierd. |

Not "bling", rather, the frame rate of the playback vs the rotational speed of the wheel. Kinda like the old westerns where the stagecoach wheel seemed to be moving in reverse. . .

Now in 993 land ...
|
This is excellent. It will hopefully spark a wave of 993 owners who held out buying a 997 and leave us the 993s cheap!
And of course, if you like the 996, you may be able to pick it up for under 25k. ![]() George |

I finally figured out what I don't like about the 997. It's been bugging me because from the rear it just looks incomplete or something, I couldn't quite put my finger on it until now....The Rear bumper/quarter panel meet too high. On the 996's the line is clean as it's at they meet at the same height of the bottom of the rear lights, now they meet at the top of the rear lights. It's totally nit picky, but it just looks weird to me. Overall, I like the look of the 997. Another thing I found about the 997 of interest, I could be wrong, but the front hood looks VERY similar to the C-GT's. It might be a little bit narrower, but the shape is uncanny. I'm wondering if they share the front hood as a means to cut production costs for the C-GT. I am in love with the new mirrors and think the new door handles are a great tip of the hat to 911's of past. I still think the '02-'04 996 looks wonderful and was a vast improvement over the earlier '99-'01. Maybe with the introduction of the 997, I'll be able to purchase a 996 with the X-51 345hp engine at a bargain price....wishful thinking....oh well, I can dream, of course if I'm gonna dream...maybe I can get a new 996TT with the X-50 package or a C-GT!!!!
