The Youngest Porsche Driver?

Well, my 14 year old got her driver's permit today ..... So off we went for a drive into town. My hands are still shakin' ....... Actually, her first time driving ever was last summer in the Gray Wolf. That was in an empty parking lot, but she did great and only stalled it once! I think I learned how to drive in a non-descript Chevy Chevelle. Times change.

Curt,

Get a shotgun, double shot, over the doorway. No, seriously, very cool post.

You can't imagine the visions going thru my head as we rocketed down the highway at 45 MPH ...... NEVER has 45 MPH felt that fast! I think I'm going to finish off this bottle of bourbon and turn in for the night.

the truth is, she'll probably be less aggressive with the car than Curt will ;-)

Curt,

Congratulations and good luck! I'm sure she'll drive safely and carefully, just like her dad!

Curt, congratulations. That grin on her face in the 1st pic is priceless, I say if she gets good grades over the next year and her driving proves worthy, you should consider giving her the Cayenne when she gets her actual license.

Yeah, I told her I'd give it to her. For fair market value. Just like I bought my Dad's car from him when I turned 16. Some things don't change.

I took my daughter golfing with me & let her drive the power cart several times a year from 9 years old till she was 15. Problem is I never taught her to park the golf cart properly.

just wait until one night she asks to take the "porsche", ahem, i mean SUV all alone, and puts 20 of her closest teenager friends in there, music howling, laughing, recipe for disaster.
dont do it!

i personally believe it should be illegal for a 14 year old to have a driver's license.

Hate SUV's. Really Hate SUV's capable of doing 160 being driven by a 14 year olds.

Thought NC was screwy for letting 15 year olds drive

Driving at 14? Incredible. Other European countries think we are too lenient with 17.

I was bad enough driving at 17, dread to think if someone had let me out during the full force of pubescent trauma

wow... i didnt know you could get your temps at 14 in michigan. its 15 now here in ohio.

when i was of age, 16 was the age for the temps. i got my temps the day i turned 16, and got my license a month or 2 later. i think i would have **** my pants if my dad handed me the keys to a brand new pepper, whne i got my temps. :O

but when i was 17 i got mein 912. instead of buying a decent used honda like most kids today, i bought 2 cars: a good 912 (which you could get for 5-6 k in '97), and a ****ty beater to drive daily.

me when i was 19 with mein 912.. yup..tryin to look like i was a bad ass

5 years later.. im still digging my 2nd car.. (and have gone through about 3 differnt beaters for daily drivers)

personally i think it tought me how to take care of somthing and be responsible, as well as how to wrench on my own cars.

I thought you had to be at least 16 to get a license?

Please don't tell me that 14 year olds can legally drive cars in the US?
