Webers Flooding from Accel squirters
Hello there.
In this hot weather, my car is running badly..taking the filter box off reveals a constant drip of gas from the accel sirters into the intakes.. Is this curable? David |

Sounds like your linkage has a kink in it and not allowing the carbs throttle plates to return to their resting positions. Are the return springs in tact on front of each carb? 2nd thing to check is your needles/seats. When you took the carb tops off for inspection, is the fuel totally clean?
Your problem is very fixable, something sounds like its out of wack. keep us posted and hopefully you'll be back on the road in no time. |

You're most likely looking at fuel dripping from the main discharge tube(s). These lead to the float bowls. There should be NO discharge from these tubes during idle.
Check your float level - fuel level might be too high. Sherwood PS: Hot weather/engine also exacerbates high fuel level by expanding hot fuel. PMO has a kit to vent the float bowl and prevent this from happening. Also use their carb insulator blocks. Last edited by 911pcars; 06-14-2004 at 01:21 PM.. |

Thanks, Guys.
It is most definitely coming from the accel squirts...the best I can guess is the heat soak at rest is boiling the gas in the accel pump and rasing the pressure ,,hard to fix, tho the heat isolators amy be good... Kind regards David |

Might check that your fuel pressure isn't too high. If it is it will leak past the needle and seat and find the easiet way out which is usually the boosters but I've seen some Holley carbs leak through the accelerator pump if the float level gets high enough, after that it leaks out the breather tubes right down into the carb. I've never owned a set ouf downdraft webers so I'm just going with knowledge I have about other makes.
