What happened to all the Targa Roof Replacement threads?

I don't have a targa, but I was eagerly following all the action with several people developing their own replacement roofs. There was something similar to a saratoga roof, and someone else was developing a better fibreglass version etc...

What were the final outcomes? Did anyone eventually finish the job?

Just interested

There were two replacement tops: one by JMPRO that's sold by Pelican and the Sundial Enterprises top sold on eBay.

The JMPRO top has lots of happy customers, but you have to destroy an original Targa top to fix it; the upside is that using the original hardware means the fit is good.

The Sundial top has less happy customers because the maker has to try for a good fit without using Porsche parts, so lots of fettling and adjustment is needed.

Okay, what about the clear/smoked acrylic one that was being developed? That one sounded interesting...

I think that was sold during the '80s? The Saratoga top. I've seen one advertised for sale for ~$2000

John - That one kind of died out. Forget who was doing it but I was very interested in that one myself.

I am gather parts to make use of JMPRO's top as we speak.
