Paint it or leave it?

After putting in my rollbar and padding the main hoop with Orange pad I cant help but think about painting the diaginal brace and harness bar Gulf Blue....Would that be too much? Should I just leave it black? Any photoshoppers wanna give it a whirl?

EDIT: for reference the car is painted Gulf Blue with orange accents.

I'd say either way will look good. With it blue you will probably be able to see it better through the windshield. Is that good or bad? I like it.

I think body color bars/cages look the best if the interior is stripped and the sheet metal is visible.....like the cage/bar was in there when the car was built.

Although I have never used either style, I have been told that the only padding worth buying is the really dense stuff and that the pipe insulation type doesn't really do all that much protecting. Can't fully tell which you have from this pic.

I think it looks good black too. I just wondered how it would look Gulf Blue... I didnt paint the whole thing because I knew the main hoop was getting foam put on it. So my plan was to paint the cross bracing Gulf Blue. Anyone wanna try a photoshop? Dont make me whip out Microsoft Paint!

EDIT: The foam is rollbar foam from Summit Racing. It has an offset hole so there is more padding on one side than the other.

I have never seen the high density stuff in Orange so I assume you've got the lower density type....not really pipe insulation....that was just a reference I made.

The photoshop would be hard with the black on black. but maybe someone more skilled than me could give it a try...

I'd leave it black.

(But then, I'd leave everything black.)

Another vote for all-black.

That way it blends in and disappears, although I agree that if it was bare metal inside, body color would be the way to go. That way it would "disappear" too.

you have to be careful with the color coordination. Soon you'll have matching shifter cozies and helmet duvet. Then Martha Stewart will come kick your arse for wearing white nomex after Labor Day.

Thats why I asked. I wanted to get some outside thoughts on this. I dont want to overdo it. I think I will leave it black.

What color is your helmet?

If it doesn't clash, keep the orange pad, and the bars black.

If the conflict, go with the black bars and go to the higher density black foam.

That's what you get for asking! LOL!

Have fun!

Paul
