Pictures of Fuch Alternatives

Greetings,

I have an 85 Targa in Guards Red with chromed Fuchs (16x7 and 16x8). Actually the rings and paddles are chromed, the rest is black. I'm going to send them to Al Reid for de-chroming and then repainted in the classic Fuch style for the era, stainless ring with black inset and paddles.

Based upon what I've been reading about chromed Fuchs, there may be a chance the Fuchs will not survive the de-chroming process. If this does occur, I'd like to know of alternatives to Fuchs that give a similar look and feel for a 911 Targa from the mid 80's.

I'd appreciate any pictures folks may have of mid 80's 911s (preferably Targas) with non-Fuch wheels.

Thanks,
Scott

a lot of people used 15" wheels in the 70's early 80's. As many have found out, not many tire choices available these days - even when you get to 16"; you are limited to 205, 225, and 245 widths.
so if you are looking for wider than that in 16's, you make the jump to 17 or 18"
you may have seen the Rota - F*chs posted on this board as an option

Other rims from back in the day in 16" (and all are getting hard to find)
Speedline
Gotti
Ronal

Thanks, please keep the pictures coming.

Does anyone have "Phone Dials" on a targa, possibly with stainless rings and black insets?

Moses,

1.Are those Rota wheels cast or forged?
2.Do they have TUV approval?
3.What kind of stress-test did they perform?
4.Will they survive DEs?
5.Are they stronger than 20+ year old EOM fuchs?
6.Pelican #1 said to Pelican #2.... 'You're stupid!'
7.Pelican #2 said to Pelican #3 ...'No, he is stupid'
8. go back to #1 100 times; then 9 kicks in.
9. Noah wakes up and says...."this thread is in circles. I am closing this thread. Moses, open up a new thread.
10. Moses open a new thread.
11. Repeat step 1.

Sorry, I could not help myself! Hopefully someone finds my joke funny!

BTW, I am one of those Pelicanites who are waiting for the 17s. I do have some rubbing on 7's in the back. So before I buy, I would require a 'trial fit.' Is he back from the Philippines yet.

LOVE THOSE 17 wheels!!!!!!

That WAS funny. Painful, but funny.

Joe will be in the Philippines for a month. The first container of 17's should ship about two weeks from now.

Moses, I already have my Rota Fox on order. Do you know which versions of the wheels will be in the first shipment?

I ordered the SC style finish (satin rim, black inset, black paddles).
