good guides to 911's up to 89
I am looking for good guides or video that are more like "this model is good but avoid this one" type of reference material. I would like a year by year buyers/ sellers guide.
Has anyone read the: Porsche 911 buyers guide http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/BOOK/POR_BOOK_bkpbuy_pg1.htm some of the stuff above sounds very good but a few are no longer avail. is there any others that are particularly good? thanks for any help |

"The Used 911 Story" by P. Zimmerman on that page link you posted was a good read when I was buying my car. I highly recommend it for people just getting started on a search for a 911. Gives good information about the 911 history as it's changed over the years. Not too technical and not excessively detailed, but still gives a nice description of what to look for (and beware of) when looking at the different years of the 911.

I kinda am looking for the tech stuff (year to year) more because I would like to start a side bus. of buying and selling them(probably SC's mostly) as well as parting them out if they are too far gone. I have exp with 74-87 but not as much with the long hood stuff.
I have some of the other books (the overview stuff) just want to gain more on the specific models. |

Get the Porsche 911 Red Book 1965-1999. Has all sorts of specifics regarding chassis numbers, engine numbers, option codes, HP & torque ratings
Book is by Patrick C. Paternie, ISBN # 0-7603-0723-7 I think I got mine at Border's bookstore.
