I would be more than happy to come over and clear all that "stuff" out for you and even give it a good sweep befroe I leave.
If you happen to want to sell it you should be able to make at least enough $$ to by a lift. Oh drywall the garage first, the open beams are a invite to dust, spiders and everthing you don't want in a nice garage. steve

I like the no frills open beam look. It makes it easier to add an outlet or run speaker wire. A little compressed air keeps those webs off the walls.

My garage is sheetrocked and painted white. The white paint really makes a difference in the brightness, even when under the car, looking for fasteners that you dropped.
White paint and lots of bright lights are important. Unfortunately, the stuff will come back to haunt you. I'm not sure if it's one of the laws of thermodynamics or simple entropy, but no matter how much space you have, the objects put in that space will expand untill the space is full. |

I'm becoming a shop pic whore like Jack is with BB2 pix.
![]() A buddy of mine is a cabinet maker, and I'm doing work on his VW bus in exchange for cabinetry. The first cabinet I had him do was to contain the lift pump, and it doubles as a small, convenient workbench close to the car. I covered it with .070 stainless steel sheet and used 1/8" 6061 aluminum to edge it and hold down the stainless. It would have been cleaner to have the sheet braked to fit, but this was more convenient. Not obvious in the pix is the 2" ABS tube put in the slab and up the stem wall to run the hydraulic line and safety cable. The second cabinet I had him do was designed around those $5 stroage crates you get at home depot. It holds 8 of them inside and 4 more on top. I'm going to have him do a 2nd one like this and mount it on the other side. The cabinet has a recessed area underneath where I'll mount a twin-tube 4' flourescent shop light. Since that's not on the electrical plans submitted to the county, it will have to wait for later ![]() For lighting I have 9 4-tube flourescent fixtures, wired as 2 separate circuits. For most stuff I do in the garage, I only need one set of bulbs lit. I have an 11CFM air compressor which lives in a small shed outside and is plumbed underground into the shop. I have a top top-notch air dryer and a separate filter, and then air lines going about 1/2way around the shop with both 1/4" and 3/8" hookups. And of course, no shop would be complete without chilled storage. I had an extra microwave oven laying around. This weekend's project is my workbench, a U shape with an 8' center and 2 4' ends, 2/4" sanded plywood (the nice stuff!) and pressure treated 4x4's to the ground. All joints are glued with subfloor glue and screwed. I can (literally) jump up and down on this thing. I might extend it all the way to the wall on the right; haven't decided yet. This weekend I sheathed it with .125 stainless sheet with a 12" splash. Yes, that's a bit overkill, but they were out of stock on the .070 sheet, and didn't know when or if they'd get more. Catch as catch can. I'll upload pix later of the sheeting. In front, I have a 32x30 parking area; #6 wire mesh and 1/2" rebar on 2' centers, and an anchor in the center in case I ever have to pull a frame or anything. Other extras not shown are a dishwasher which will be converted to a parts washer; hot plate for heating hubs; 1600CFM exhaust fan (wiring is already in the wall for it); wall mount A/C (wiring ready to go); and of course the lav, once the county guys get off their a$$es and dig up the street to hook me up.
