Fender-

You should buy my `89 cab. I'll be driving it down to AZ around mid July!

Fenderguy,

7 months for my first Porsche and about 8 months for my second. Take your time and get the one you really like and checks out well.

Fenderguy,

Take your time and enjoy the search! Keep us supplied with pictures and we'll be happy!

Fenderguy, I love my '83 cab. I've had it for over 2 years and have never regretted it one minute. I think the manual top is a plus, too.

CIS can be replaced by this new EFI kit from Tony, I think thats why I am going the route of SC.

Looking foward to a SC Cab

FenderGuy-
Just watch out for the smog requirements in AZ if you plan to swap out the CIS. I hear AZ is cracking down, and if they have a visual inspection like CA then you would have problems with the EFI conversion.

FenderGuy, I sincerely wish you luck in finding a quality 911 for a good price. I really do.
But, sometimes I think you confuse "overpriced" with "over my budget".
Experience, either from ownership, or absorbed through a lot of reading here with an open mind; will tell you that the difference between a $8000 SC and a $13,000 SC is that the the $8k car hasn't had $5,000 spent on it yet :D
I'm hoping that you find a 911 soon, and we can all start hearing about your ownership adventures instead of your shopping dramas! :)

good luck and cheers!!

80SC $8900 in Las Vegas

Found this today on autotrader classics. High miles, but has records and turbo type upgrades.

And another in las vegas. $8900 and high miles. You could fly in and check out both!

Good luck!

Max is $12k too cheap for 1983 Sc Targa? (Some Pelicans even thought that price was too high) That’s what I was going to pay for that Targa until the deal went south, I don’t know were you get the $8k figure? I know not to get a car that cheap it will end up costing more then 12k if things are not in order. I don’t confuse “overpriced “vs. “what’s my budget” when it comes to what I am buying. I think the Sc and Carreras with miles in upper 150k are overpriced, Since I have been in the market I have seen some cars approaching 200k miles and commanding anywhere from $15k to $17k, those are the cars that I think are overpriced and those are the cars that will sit. These cars are over 20 years old; they are either in the category of garage queen used or used some more then others. No matter what they are still going to need some sort of work to bring them up to daily use or optimum use. I dont understand why a seller would command such a high price if a car needs some or a lot of work . The rage now is the earlier cars commanding higher prices, which I don’t understand why someone would pay a lot for a T-model, when that was the downsized version of the S. I can see an S bringing in money, but to a certain point and that’s my own opinion. I guess nostalgia is good. I just prefer the later 911 model for my case.
