FenderGuy find a 911 yet?

There is what looks to be a well-sorted 77 targa that just popped up in the Cars for Sale forum. Might be the right one: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/169191-1977-911s-targa-sale-8-500-a.html

Az911 06-24-2004 09:24 AM

Fenderguy is more of a tire kicker then a buyer

vash 06-24-2004 09:27 AM

JP, nice find. personally, i am still pulling for fender.
glad we got ed bates on board. now fender's turn.

911SCfanatic 06-24-2004 10:28 AM

az911, any pics of your project?

Az911 06-24-2004 10:31 AM

The car is at a friends shop. I'll take some pics when I stop buy today

911SCfanatic 06-24-2004 10:43 AM

Great! How far along are you in the project? What are the plans?

azasadny 06-24-2004 12:32 PM

I think Fenderguy enjoys the "search" more than the "find"...

just like looking for "mrs. right"!

Shuie 06-24-2004 12:35 PM

I don't think he likes red cars.

ubiquity0 06-24-2004 12:42 PM

Last I heard he was looking for a Silver 912E coupe with black interior & sunroof, less than 50 000 original miles, in the state of Arizona only for less than $4000.
;)

JP911 06-24-2004 12:51 PM

Everybody has there own unique way of doing things. If he wants to sort through every Porsche for sale in the continental US then so be it.

thrown_hammer 06-24-2004 01:07 PM

Yeah, It could be worse... Fenderguy could be like me.
open Panorama, Close eyes, put finger on page, open eyes, call seller, go pick up car.;)

FenderGuy 06-24-2004 04:06 PM

Thanks for the leads and look out most appreciative ,I am for those that do that. Hmmm at first I was accused of getting my hands on whatever modified abortion of a 911 was out there, and yeah I was a little unknowledgeable or afraid of the 911 engine (costs). But after some knowledge from the board, the engine is not as complicated as I thought it was, and that I can do my own maintaince. After my drive in my potential targa, the ride was a thrill, and found the real reason why I had liked this car all along. I still get an urge to get a slant nose cab, but it passes, but then again it’s whatever 911 I want to get right? As for being called a tire kicker from an arse, well lets see it’s my choice right? Or do I need to get something right away to please your sense that I am not a tire kicker. If it takes me being a tire kicker to avoid the mess with that targa and that horrible shop then so be it. I want to get a 911 that pleases me and not what others think pleases them. Being in this search has shown me there’s a lot of over priced cars out there, I don’t expect a bargain at the owner’s expense, but I will pay for a 911 that pleases me. I am seemed to have annoyed a lot of people in this forum with my opinions on what is overpriced, but that’s all they are opinions . It seems this forum is lacking that people have opinions. BTW awaiting to see if an owner of 1983 SC Cab wants to sell or not.....

JP911 06-24-2004 04:09 PM

Glad to hear that your still looking for a 911. Good luck with the SC Cab.

on-ramp 06-24-2004 04:34 PM

everyone has their own style of doing things. if Fendeguy wants to take his time with his purchase and "tire kick" as many 911s as he wants, that's his right. he shouldn't be criticized over it . it's better to take your time and find a good one than to jump into one head first and have problems later..

good luck with your search

FenderGuy 06-24-2004 05:00 PM

JP911 be glad when I am driving in one :D your lucky enjoy your ride ...

Good luck on your search fender guy - the SC Cabs are on of my favorites - even if they do have CIS...

And some of you guys should have been around with Nostatic and his Carrera and then selling his Carrera and then his SC - now that was classic!

Fenderguy,

I admire your caution in picking out a car. I tend to let impulses get the better of me and because of it, drove a Targa for over nine years all the while wanting a coupe. Stick to your guns and go for what you want! BTW, I FINALLY have a coupe! (anyone looking to buy a Targa? :D )
