Finally made it to Stuttgart

Here are a few pic's of our trip to the Porsche Museum next to the Porsche factory. They wouldn't allow us to take any pictures while in the factory. I saw quite a few 997's in various stages of assembly, very nice look.

Check out the number of cylinders on that one engine.

Where you allowed to take pictures at the museum?

In the museum only. They ask that you leave all back packs and such in lockers that they provided with a key.
Look for the rotor caliper key chain in the museum store only 5 euro, really cool. Rumor has it that they are only sold through the museum. I'll buy two of them from you if you have a notion to pick up a few. Send me a PM with your address and I'll send you the money.

They come in yellow and red, one of each. We are having a club race/ benefit auction and I know they will bring plenty of bids.
Don't forget to send me a PM with your address. Do you want euros, dollars?

I'm sorry, I didn't buy any.
We were in the museum and i saw those keychains. We were told that we would come back later, after the trip around the factory, visit to the Weissach test track ( with test drive as passenger in boxster S, 996 Carrera and 911 Turbo ) and exclusive department. Unfortunately we where delayed so the museum was closed, only selection shop was open. Check Ebay or ask GeorgeM.

Stuttgart Pelicans.
My wife just found 30 Euro in one of her pants pockets. Now it's burning a hole in mine. Anyone want to drop by the Museum and pick up about five of them for me? I'll send the money in advance! Send me a PM if you will do that for me. I get compliments from whoever sees the key chain. They really are cool!

these are the only two 959s I've ever seen in person:

At the Porsche Museum, and

at the first Rennsport Reunion.

As far as I can tell, they are both production cars.

I visited the museum last summer and I think that 959 was there. Funny thing was there was a nicer one w/ less miles across the street at the dealership waiting for serivce! Here's a few other pictures.

Yes, it was a prototype.
If you go to the factory you have to call ahead for a reservation.

During my visit they had 5 or 6 959's at the werk 1 (thats where they have the exclusive dept. and repairshops)
A couple of years ago I spotted a GT1 with license plates at Nurburgring along with a Ferreri F40. I'm sure they have had they share of fun!
On my way to the factory visit this year I drove by Nurburgring and saw several 997 in both coupe and cabrio being tested on the northern loop. There were also boxsters with taped over headlights.
I wonder if they will make a facelift of the boxster with 997 lights!!!!!
