Old vs new wheels on my '74 Targa
Here are the wheels that came on the car (replica Fuchs in 7x15)
Here are the new 6x15 and 7x15 Fuchs that I bought and had Al Reed refinish. Any difference? Best $ I ever spent on the Porsche!!

But Targas just don't have that sleek looks of the coupe. Stiffness wise for the body, it is lacking. Do you find that same sentiment without being bias?

Don't misunderstand me regarding my previous statement. I love open air. Why not a Cabrio?

Carl,
I happen to like the lines of the Targa better than the Coupe, but I understand if others do not feel the same, as it's purely subjective. I like the "safety factor" in having the Targa bar there to protect me. Cabriolets are pretty pricey and I have always wanted a Targa, especially with the stainless steel bar, that does it for me!! Even with the squeaks, leaks and rattles, the Targa is still my favorite.

I normally do not white cars, but it sure looks great on a 911 Targa! I don't think I've seen a color yet that I don't like on the 911!!

A couple of my friends have targas. You're right it does depend on the individual taste. It is still a 911.

My baby.
Each time I drive or work on her, I fall more and more in love. Taking the top off and cruising down A1A on a Sunday morning, and it simply doesn't get much better than this.

This was taken before 3.6 installation and a complete suspension rebuild/upgrade. The car is still in the shop, will send photos of finished item. My wife wanted a convertable of any kind and kept brining it up [is that what you call 'nagging?'], so I did some research and found this 'convertable'. Just wait 'til she drives it the first time after the 3.6 is in and the suspension is a 'little' tighter..... Targas do have some front end wiggle, noise and rattles but they are a kick to drive with the top off! Drums

Thank you azasadny, that's Platinum. I was wary getting this color at first but I now love the way the color changes in different lighting. There was a thread a while back on this color alone and the cars were beautiful... (try searching on Platinum).
And I love Viper Green!! The early 60-70s colors were fantastic. I show my age but I remember when the streets were filled with candy apple this and that, oranges and yellows, purples, greens, now look around and all you see are silver SUVs, Accords and Camrys. Ahhh, the good ole days...

Coming in VERY late to this thread. Bck on page 10 the car owned by RC-Escape, what color is that? Looks like a metallic orange or copper. Very nice in that shot, anyone know?

Still, for best results, leave the top in the garage or trunk where it belongs.

Here's a 73' I just bought on Egad. It has a 3.2 in the back and upgraded suspension. I sold my 72' Coupe so I could concentrate on my 71'S resto and soon realized I was looking at least a year without a Porsche to drive so I pulled the trigger and bought this one.
