Spark Plug Wiring on Dist. on 79

Does anyone have a picture of the plug firing order on the distributor on a 1979. I thought I had the wires all marked and when I put it back, its missing bad, like one of the wires are crossed. I just did a search and can not find any pics or schematics. I know the notch is #1, but which side of the notch is #1??Any help would be appreciated, I just spent 1 hour trying to figure this out.......

Thanks!

Thought I had a pic, but I can't find it, sorry. Any way, the easiest way to determine the order on the cap is to remember the connector directly to the rear of the car is #5, then, moving counter-clockwise around the distributor cap the next connector is #1 (you'll see #5 and #1 flank the rear-most hold down clip for the cap) now just follow the firing order (1, 6,2, 4, 3, 5) COUNTER-CLOCKWISE) around the cap.

Even though you now know which connectors are which on the cap - follow each wire carefully to each plug to ensure you haven't made a mistake followng a wire and have inadvertantly put the #4 wire on the #6 connector or something similar (it can happen).

Good luck,

Thanks Jerry!!!!!!!!!!!

I could not find the correct starting point and your #5 rear of the car thing did the trick!

Thanks again, now I can relax.
