Hood alignment?
The hood on my 76' 911 is a bit out of alignment. The gap between the passenger side quarter panel and hood is about 1/8 " wider than the driverside. In addition the front of the hood doesn't meet with the rubber strip on the bumper (the smile). It's not terribly noticible except to me and maybe other 911 owners. I don't think the car was ever in an accident but was wondering if anyone has tried adjusting the hood?
The cars running great so it's the aesthetics that are getting the attention (with the 2.7 I may have just jinxed myself) Thanks for any help.

Hi Tom, To move the hood over, open the hood, push on the hood at the back by the hinge to move the hood in the direction you need it to go. Give it a short, sharp shove but not too hard, you can always do it a little at a time. You will have to close the hood to check alignment after each attempt. To adjust the front, you need to move the latch down by losening the two 10mm bolts that hold the latch to body. The latch will adjust left, right, up and down. Make sure the striker (on the hood) meets the latch in the middle or the hood could get stuck in the closed position. Good luck.

No, the hinge will slightly bend and hold its shape. I know this sounds barbaric but it works very well.

You may very well have a different hood than the car was built with, or you should remove the front tire and have a hard look for any ripples in the car body bottom, left or right.
Each car was adjusted at the factory for tight lines. I typically loosen the allen bolts to move the hood. john
