Motor has been sitting 1 year - what oil on start-up?
I should be putting an 84 3.2 in the 73 this weekend and may even get it running, although I still need to locate a temporary starter motor...Pelican's lightweight new type doesn't actually ship next business day
or next business week it turns out. Anyway, the motor has been sitting about a year in a garage. Any thoughts as to if any special oil should go in it? Mobil 1 vs. Kendall GT dino? Ideas on weights? Thanks Shaun

Personally, if I had new oil lines, new oil cooler and a motor that had been sitting for a while I'd be tempted to put in some cheap oil, run it enough to open the thermostat(s) and then drain it and check for bits in the oil and on the drain plug. Then I'd change the filter and fill it up with new oil.
