tranny lube

What do folks recommend for tranny lube for an '87 Carrera. Wayne's book suggests synthetics for G50s. I'm partial to Mobil 1 products.

Thoughts?

NO Swepco for the G50 box.

Mobil 1 75/90. Do a search, there will be about 200 threads pointing out the fact that Mobil 1 or Redline should be used in the G50 box.

Right. And what is implied by Weaver, but not stated, is that the '87 does have the G50. Use the Swepco 201 in the 915 and earlier tranny's - they use the Porsche synchros, whereas the G50 uses Borg-Warner synchros.

very bad to mix them up!

and no oil is in the gera shifter -- except a little film on moving parts, and some grease in the ball cup
