A little MFI heads up

I adjusted the valves about a month ago. In the process I pulled MFI injector hose off. I put the car back to together, tuned it up and away I went. But it ran like crap on and off for the past 3 weeks. I must have adjusted the MFI about 20 times. Lots of back firing at times, and other times it ran fine. This is what I found: The hose the connects from the mfi pump to the left side engine tin is the same material that they use for VW heater hose, just a lot smaller. It's then covered by a plastic sleave. I pulled that hose off and pulled the sleave off and low and behold is was split right down the middle. Replaced it and the car runs great once again. Just thought I would share how much a little thing like that affected the running of my car.

Right on!

Those two concentric hoses must be in perfect condition.
I understand that the 30+year old big heavy hose from the tin to the heat exchanger can fail internally and block the air flow but still appear OK on the outside.

Hopefully you got everything back to where it was.

Good illustration of CMA. Thanks.

Best,
Grady
