Slate bleu, venetian bleu 911's let see.

Hi my car is currently slate bleu or close to (not original color and have been unable to determine). Anyways, I am planning on stripping and painting back to the same color or close to it. Anyways, I am thinking about doing the Fuchs the same color as the car so am curious if anyone has done it so I can see what it would look like.

Thanks,

David

David,

The PO on my Venetian Blue coupe had done the wheels in blue, and here are the only photos of this I have at work.

I thought that it looked pretty nice, but the wheels were much too clean for a track car, so I sold them and bought some cheaper ones.

Tom

Thanks Tom, cars look nice. Those all yours?

I was thinking about going back to original silver but lost interest in that color. I got in my head to do something a little different, figure it will never be the fastest car but at least it could look different. I am thinking same color, with the same color rims though open to a different color other than black (which I currently have). Also thinking rear fender protectors which I currently have and like (though might have to rethink since black) and perhaps a Carrera Script on sides.

I guess from seeing so many 911's, I am getting a bit bored with the stock look for a NA cars.

If I were changing color I'd go for something quite unusual yet subtle and tasteful. I'd love a Speed Yellow car, but would get tired of it pretty quickly.

My thoughts:
- A dark Black-Green, darker than today's British Racing Green, kind of like the old Astons and Jags at LeMan
- Charcoal gray, like a fine suit
- Some variant of Aubergine (eggplant)

All with black or body-colored wheel centers and polished rims.

I like the Carrera script in matte body color for an understated look.

My 2 cents.

Thanks JYL,

I think I am staying with the color I have, which I like. It is just the added touches that I am looking for. As you mentioned, tasteful is definitely a requirement. Also trying to stay period correct such as the right tail or spoiler for the right age. Makes me wonder if my tail is correct. Hmmm. Nothing wrong with putting a duck tail on an SC or Carrera, just like whale tails better on them.

Most important:
Not looking for anything that would get posted on Pelican saying "what was this guy thinking".

here's a picture of my car. I'm not sure what the color is called but it is a factory color. I had color coated wheels. I didn't like them so I stripped and polished them myself

Nice looking rims Steve. Those must have taken you some time.

David,
According to the paint plate on the inside of the frunk (front trunk) this is Ventian Blue.

Good luck with finding the look you are after....Fitz
