can over-revving the rev limiting rotor damage it?
Should I be concerned or look for anything in particular after missing an upshift (3-4 but stayed in neutral) and redlining the engine for a few seconds? Everything seems just fine, car (70E with MFI) runs wonderfully, and I know I have the rev limit rotor and I could tell the car was hitting the limit cause it started cutting out as I realized my mistake.
Can I damage the rotor by over-reving it? Most of the other threads just talked about fuel system based rev-limiters on SCs... thanks, Britt |
MOre than likely, not. mechanical over-revs, on the other hand...

As far as I know there is a spring and the switch is a true switch - reversible - not a fuse. You shoudl be just fine, especially since it is running fine.
