The grin is back!
After 7 weeks without my car I finally picked it up on Monday and have driven it trouble free for two days. As it turns out it was the DME afterall. Thanks to all for your insight and especially to Loren for fixing it. This is actually the third time I have gotten the car back in the past 7 weeks but the first time that it continued to work for more than 24 hours.
To my mechanic's credit, he did not charge me any labor this time, only charging what he paid to Loren to fix it. He even covered the towing himself. It feels so good to be drivin' and grinnin' again!
