Porsche Crest Kurt B. & other street racers ... watch out for those red Dodge SRT-10s ...

500 hp of Viper V-10 ... 305/40ZR-22 Pirellis ... 0 - 60 in 5.2 sec, 155 mph top end ... could make life on the street hard on your 915s!!!

I've seen a couple of these around. I guess if someone has to explain it to me, I'll never get it.

The one thing I have to give them BIG credit for is that it comes with a manual transmission (I'm an anti-automatic hard-liner). I don't believe the chevy and ford hot-rod pickup trucks can be had with a stick.

I don't really street race in the strict sense. An occasional acceleration contest from time to time, but not really a race.
Those are very mean no doubt. That's impressive.

Not sure I buy the figures. I had a guy screeching wheels the other day as he was going into second (long screech it seemed) which I could hear clear as day behind me, but it sure didn't do much to change the outcome of our little joust, which was an easy victory for the C2 (it was some kind of jap car, not sure what, but not something I saw around much) Sounded mean and powerful at HIGH rpms, but again, those sounds coming from behind me.

911's don't screech. The do a great job of getting that power into motion efficiently. No drama, just acceleration.

Andy, the Joe Gibbs Silverado can be had with a stick. Although not as fast as the Ram SRT-10 it is a little quicker than the Lightning...

it's definitely quick. i've sort of abandoned the red one for it, but it's mainly because of the AC. When it was time to go to the beach on Sat though, put the top down, tossed all the goodies into ol' red, and took off. No probs for far. No ice cold AC though, which kind of sucks. Enough to keep you comfortable in the CA heat, but not like Subaru or Honda quality AC that's for sure.
I should probably check it out more thoroughly to make sure there's not something wrong (although it does not lose pressure at the compressor).

All of those trucks are the epitomy of *Why?/Why not?* marketing. I fall into the "why?" camp, I like just regular old trucks, which are pretty darn nice these days incidentally. Young guys would absolutely love that thing though, so smart marketing I guess.

Kurt B., whatup? Don't be such a stranger around here!
