In-Car UFOs
I've said this before but it's worth noting again for our newer Pelicanheads. I've even forgotten it, but it's always so true.
These cars teach their drivers how to drive. Keeping both hands on the steering wheel is just a very good, and fairly mandatory in our cars. Watching other traffic is important too, because those behemoths cannot hope to ever stop as quick or turn as abruptly. Their drivers don't expect our maneuvers so we have to watch out for them too. And.... You learn to keep the junk out of your cabin. Stuff inside the cabin is hazardous. Don't even bother to put stuff on the passenger seat. Flies off in the first few minutes. You might as well just throw everything directly onto the floor. If this is not true for you, get a Ford Taurus.

I've noticed the odd philips head sliding across the floor now and then...

When I used to use my cars for the track I made anyone entering the car empty their pockets for change. A coin shooting around the cabin under braking is a distraction I didn't need.

the best way to avoid cell phone use while driving is to put it onto the passenger seat. one turn, and that sucker is safely hidden away in some nook and cranny.
