What's Up With Scruffy

So it was back in March when the motor gods too her away. I've read some bits and pieces about a wicked motor build ,but no real details.

Well, there's a whole 'nother story a brewin' there. Just stay tuned for an update, and a a story with an "M. Night Shamalan-style" twist at the end.

I'll probably be lynched by villagers with torches when they find out what's brewing, but still others will cheer.

Let's just say that in the end, there will be 2 very cool cars, and 2 very happy owners when it's all said and done.

Oneof them better be a cab. Scruffy was the inspiration for many a cab owner with track dreams.

finally putting that Chevy V6 in. I know you've had your (evil) eye on that for awhile.

With an electric supercharger, I've heard.

Corvair in a 911? That's a flat six.
I seem to remember something about BBI coming back for another life.

Dang, you guys are twisted!

No, it involves a trade. Scruffy will remain much the same, but will eventually get 3.6 power. I'll be getting a '69 non-sunroof coupe with a 3.2, which is better for me track-wise. I'll miss Scruffy, since she was my first Porsche, and I've owned her for 14 years. But she'll be in good hands, right James?

no doubt!

Hey Tyson

Yeah man, she'll be in great hands! She'll probably be with me at least 14 years if not longer.

See you when you get here to pick up the 69.

James

Tyson,
Glad to hear that "Scruffy" will be going to a good home..
I love the sound of the project car.. I will one day do the same and maybe stuff a 3.8 ltr in the rear and just loads of suspension stuff to handle it all.
as I want to one day make a car that scare the **** out of me while driving it because it just has gobs of power!!
Hope to see the car soon.
I will miss "scuffy" as well I'll miss the stories of Scruf kicking big boy azz on the tracks..

See ya Eric...

Don't worry, James has a plan to track Scruffy, and hopefully I can get out to his neck of the woods to give him some instruction so he can do us proud and represent on the East Coast.

Plus, I think he plans to bring her out to the West Coast every so often for R-Gruppe meets, etc. So Scruffy is definitely staying in the family.

The trade just makes sense for both of us since he will use it primarily on the street with occasional track work, and I'll be using the '69 primarily on the track. So it just works out better that he has a convertible, and I have a coupe.

"Oh, but what about the '72 oil tank!?!?!?" you might have been heard to say Well, don't worry, I've alrady got a 964 tank ready to go in the '69, so it will keep the tradition. I haven't decided whether or not to have an oil filler like a 911R, or keep it stealthy like a 964/993.

I wonder if I'll lose my VTK membership. Hmmm....
