Changing 'dash trim' insert on '72 911 -- advice?

The vinyl inserts are easy to figure out for the glove box door and the little piece to the right. the radio surround isn't tough, either. but the other two dash pieces seem to have the lettering (lights) molded in to them.

Any tips on replacing the vinyl other than laying new material in place and trimming?

Any help is appreciated.
