CV Joints in Pairs?
Pretty much determined that I have a bad CV joint causing the knocking in mr suspension. Do I need to change both sides or all four at once? I haven't taken off yet beacuse it takes a week to get parts and I don';t want to be without the car.

Bite the bullet and do both. You will be constantly waiting for the other one to fail if not.

This is a good time to get the $800 ultra-lite treatment at SRP....
Seriously, the above is good advice. As old as everything is, you may want to go ahead and replace the bolts and locking plates. Definitely replace the lock washers with the exact same type ("Schnoor"). Check the torque a couple of times at intervals after you redo them. It's about the greasiest job on a 911 -- Bon Appetit! |

Randy,
What are the locking plates? I removed, cleaned and greaed this past winter and everything looked good. I kno it's a dirty job, but to me the worst part is making sure the bolts loosen without striping the head. John
