CIS airbox backfire..no pop-off=KAPLOW!

Pulled the airbox outta the 73.5 targa on sat. after one hellava backfire rendered it useless. thanx for the help with the location of the new pop-off vavle for the new airbox.

much to my surprise(from reading previous posts on how much pita it is to remove) it only took me an hour to get the box out of the engine compartment without lowering the motor. having the right tools went a long way getting to the intake runner/head bolts on the pass. side, but other than that is was straight-forward.

oh wel, here are the pics of the old box.....not the greatest quality but u get the point.

DrifterJerry,

This happened to me on a track day! ... Why do these things only go wrong on track days???

The explosion sends you through the roof doesn't it! Mine scarred the hell out of me!

Have 3.0 SC engine installed in new project car... with POP -OFF Valve.... not going through that again,

I hope!
