Fog light bracket question

Does anyone have any info on the late fog light brackets that wrapped under the 72/73 S spoilers? Did they mount to the overider brackets? I don't have a source for the later accesorie part numbers. Was it a Porsche part? If so, anyone have the number or a picture of the full bracket?

TIA,

Fog lights on the long hood seem to be the following:

Big fog/driving lights mounted directly on the hood

Non-S lower valance, the small fog lights were mounted directly to the valance.

The S lower valance had no provisions for driving lights. Thus the mounting brackets were mounted directly on top of the battery box and stuck through the horn grills. Obviously, these mounting brackets could be used on Non-S cars too. You could have actually two lights mounted thusly, with some on the hood, and a couple mounted in the valance on a non-S. Some combinations!

Good luck,
David Duffield

Here's a little bit of info from a previous thread:

Yeah Curt,

Those are the brackets I'm asking about. I'm wondering if they used the same through the grill bracket reversed or if it was a different bracket. I've got a steel S bumper and am not going to be doing holes in that!!!

The mounting almost looks like the bumperette locations. I've only seen pictures of them on the RS style spoiler.

Anybody know about the bracket part number or have a picture of the bracket by itself? I don't have the 73 parts list catalog. Only the 70/71 and it's not in there obviously since the S bumper was not yet offered. I will probably end up fabbing something myself but would like to be as accurate as possible.

The steel '73 'S' bumper and spoiler had a pair of downward-facing threaded weldnuts incorporated on each side [further out than the battering rams -- about even with horn grilles] ... that I presume were for fog lamp brackets of some sort, though I have never seen them for sale or in use! The pic below from the other thread seems to use the weldnut location I remember for the brackets ... even though the pictured car is an RS.

I guess Kurt's pic illustrates a rather rare fog lamp option, even on ROW cars ... the pic looks like a press car to me!
