Deciding between Polo Red and Ruby Red for my project. Would like to see the difference.

This is my 83 SC in Ruby Red Metallic (according to the window sticker). Sorry, the shadow from our tree maybe obscuring the the color. The color is a maroon type of red. I can take another pic if you want. It will give me a good excuse to wash it this week!

I have a bunch of pics of the '62 356 Ruby Red. Is this the ruby you're asking about? It is a blood red.

That would be great Ronin. That's the one I'm asking about.

I should have a dry sample around. There were 3 '62 Ruby Reds because different plants were shipping in the tubs to P. I believe I have the nicest of the 3. I had Sherwin-Williams lab techs on the phone a few times to confirm it was being copied correctly from a wet sample I sent them.

Ronin, do you have the Sherwin-Williams color code for that color?

Thanks,
Ed

There's no color code.. but I do have the formula direct from the SW lab. e-mail me and put Ruby Red in the subject header.

If you have a big bit pic maybe you can do a cut and zoom to a red and white contrast ?

Blood Red... you either like or you don't. Guards Red is more forgiving of a low shine 'cause of the orange in the mix most of the time imo.
That said, an engine comp should be mechanically low sheen, better satin imo. Blood Red is superior to Guards Red in the engine comp imo.

Now's the time for a nice pic.
How about light lower than you house sun. . you know, late afternoon light. Find a nice colored section with the available lights. Place a piece of white letter paper, whatever, laying down or masking tape fastened to a side. I'm sure your whole car is beautiful, but I would like to see the color. I don't remember ever seeing your color.. and the metalic is a contrast to my '62 356 Ruby Red.

I'll have to take some pics this weekend. I just joined PCA Orange Coast Region and was going to attend the Breakfast Club meeting Saturday. I'll try to get some close up pics showing the color against a white paper then and try again in the late afternoon. Here are some other pics but during mid-day sun a few weeks ago (probably not close enough for you to tell the color). Hope it helps some!
