Ventura - German Auto Fest - Who's going?

Well Pelicans, I believe I have acquired the proper clearances and permissions from the Minister of Everything to attend one (and possibly two) days of the German Auto Fest...

Just wondering who'll be there? Wayne, do you run a stall or something?

Should I wear a "pink carnation" to identify myself or will the accent give it away Is there a bar everyone eventually retires to on the Saturday evening?

Can I "wing" accomodation, or should I be booking it now?

Looking forward.....

John, glad you will be there. There are a number of places that you can get acquainted with some local Pelicans that can introduce you to more. The Early S and R Gruppe corral along with the Early S Registry booth is one. Chuck Moreland will hold court in one of the exibition halls and knows quite a few folks as they pass by.

I find that Pelican Parts doesn't know the customers by face as well as someone like Chuck. If MikeZ wears his pink bunny ears, you will most likely spot him in the swap area on Sunday at his selling location. Dave at GPR will know some more.

I hear many are staying at the Holiday Inn (I think) which is right next to the fairgrounds. That has to be a natural meeting place for after hours. If I'm wrong on the name, someone will chime in with a correction. In fact, you better book a room soon.

I plan on being there Sat. and Sun a bit in the morning. As I understand it, there will be an area for the early 912's and 911's. Will have my 911 there if all goes well.

Thanks for the reminder! I'm less than an hour away and I plan on going at least one day. Is there going to be poker? I missed it last year, my first year with PP.

My wife, Liz, and I plan to be there on Saturday and Sunday with our car.
Anyone from the bay area want to drive down on Friday with us?

Thumbs up should be there

I knew someone would bring this up soon. As I am new to the family, I will be SURE to be there! I can't wait to meet some pelicans and enjoy a weekend of fun. We should organize a drive up the coast for p-people in the LA area that weekend. Anyone think this might work? I will probably leave early saturday morning.

Yes, we'll definitely be there again for this year's event. Everybody can come by our table and pick up a sticker to pop on their forehead, if you want.

We'll be there as well and will leave Fiday most likely. Going to spend the night in Bakersfield with relatives, however. We can caravan until hwy 58, then go our separate ways. Looking forward to meeting a few Pelicans there.

The caravan is half the fun.

I'm planning on Saturday, at least, this year.

Aren't 65-73 911's the featured attraction this year?

I'd love to be there...but the mother of all events (for me, anyway) is on Saturday in Washington. How long would it take to drive from Washington to Ventura?

Jack, yep... early years are the feature.

I just reckon 'cause I'm coming so far, I'd love to kick back and have a beer with a few of you on the Saturday night. I've secured accomodation at the Holiday Inn and will have my drinking shoes on

Does someone want to make a call and declare an official meeting spot for the evening?

Look forward to meeting you all

PS: I'll be the bloke with the really bored looking wife in tow
