Is this (too) low??
I lowered my Targa. The front shock-top washers/spacers have been removed. My Ferch calculations predicted I should set the (rear) spring plates at 34 degrees. I couldn't get the center torsion rod splines to disengage so I dropped it by a full 9 degrees from 39 to 30 degrees and thought I would see what I got.
The car shrank nicely and is at Euro specs of 24.5 inches front & 24 inches rear. I roughed in alignment and this is after several settling drives. No fender rubs; speed bumps and dips haven't been a problem. The rear fenders do come down over the top of the tire. The rockers are level with the ground. What do you think?? How does it LOOK? Too low? My restoration attempted to keep the car original (1975 911S) with a more modern paint color, power windows, keyless entry etc..... Any suggestions on unsticking the torsion centers without pulling the rockers off? ![]()

If your tires are stock diameter, you are actually 1 inch below accepted Euro height.
It looks good at the height, though it could use a touch more rake (might just be the camera angle and lines of the driveway). But you are pretty low for the street, you will likely find some driveways that scrape. And though slammed cars look good, your geometry is actually hurting unless you've taken measures to correct (raised spindles, bump steer, etc).

i think it looks great. maybe a touch more at the front but as Chuck says it may be the photo. As for the geometry-unless you are tearing it up on the track or caning it about, i wouldn't worry too much. (although i am a bit of a twat when it comes to looks over practicality so I'd listen to Chuck!)

Here is the car at stock height in Sept 2003.
I did install the bump steer rack spacers. I am looking for a stock look although USA height will loose to Euro - I thought I had the Euro height numbers right but it did seem too low - thanks to Chuck for correcting me. I will be raising the rear at a minimum. As far as rake - what is the sill/rocker angle? And Chuck - any advise on the torsion bars - pulling the centers without removing the rockers? I would like to replace the spring arms with adjustable SC types - do you have extras from the Elephant upgrade pile to sell? ![]()

looks pretty good, probably at the bottom end of the acceptable scale. You probably need a bumpsteer kit.

I'm not sure what you are asking about torsion bars. You do need to remove the rockers to pull them out, but that is the easy part.
I don't have any extra SC spring plates. You might check with some of the good salvage yards like Parts heaven and Easy.

Flat 6 - This is the car. Transformed. And now making the rounds to have my wife's five siblings enjoy their approved color change.
Chuck - I wasn't able to unseat the torsion bars from the center and thus I was unable to set the spring plate angle accurately. Just one setting on the outside = 9 degrees. I wanted suggestions on pulling the bars far enough to change the spring plate register without removing the spring plate completely which requires removing the rockers. I didn't want to take a vice grip and a crowbar to the torsion bar and damage its surface.
