Installation Of engine mount console ?
First I have never done nor seen or read about this . Tried doing some searches, but to no avail.
I am replacing because of an accident. The impact in the drivers side rear. Among other things, the engine support bar and the console( mounted to engine) that it is mounted to were bent. I took some force to get the console of the engine, two of the four studs were bent ( Top left and bottom right) . I replaced both of these and when I go to mount a new console to engine I can't get it over all of the struds. I pulled the remaining stud at the bottom and will replace ( part on order). But the last stud ( smaller in top right) sure looks straight to me and beside I could not get it to budge ( I order it anyway). The question - how easy should the installion be. Line and bolt it on? If so, then I will bite the bullet and replace the last stud. Or is there a trick? As you can tell, I am very nervous removing studs that I can budge- this one is a 10x15 so not a lot to work with. AND it is on the engine - ^%$#@!. Thanks Earl |

you have the elec console mounted on the engine? |
huh? Are you talking about the engine tin?
|
Sorry, let me try to clarify.
Not the engine tin. It is what the engine support bar mounts to and it is covering the pulley. The PET calls it a mounting console. Earl |

Robin,
You got it. Number 20. I replaced studs # 26 ( two of them). There are two other studs not shown here - top right (smaller one) and top left ( much larger & has been replaced). Earl |
It should slide right over the studs, so either the studs or the "console" or both have problems.
The #26 you cite is the washer going underneath the bolt that attaches the bowtie-shaped engine mount to the console. The studs that mount the console to the engine case (the ones I think you're talking about) aren't shown in RoninLB's picture. |
Thanks,
I know what I have to do now. Appreciate the response. Earl |
