What'wrong at Pelican?

Anybody know? Their phones aren't working and my order is over a week late already.... seems to just be sitting in their system.

Anybody know how to contact them?

it WOULD fit in with the fact that he's got a ferrari...

did he grow a bushy mustache, start wearing really short shorts, and start liking the detroit tigers?

What's wrong with the phones? I just called there a minute ago and got right through?

First of all, you placed the order late in the day last Thursday. Today is Wednesday, so it's hardly "over a week late."

Secondly, you ordered a special order item from Porsche (gave us the part number) - it's probably taking a while to get since it's not a regularly stocked part here, or in the local Porsche warehouse...

There's a link at the top of every page that says "Help" - Our contact email is in there.

Wayne, come on...post a photo to dispell the rumors about your mustache and the Hawaiian coffee farm.

I called twice. The first time, after about 15 minutes on hold, it said there was an error in the phone system and asked me to leave a msg. I didn't have time to hold that long the 2nd time, so I hung up after 7-10 minutes.

The important thing is that I made it clear to John, who took the order, that I needed the parts right away. If somthing needed extra time then I told him to just cancel that item. So there SHOULD be no special order items holding things up. Apparently that was not done.

I also sent an Email.

Now, how can I get my order shipped ASAP? I need the CV bolts, lock plates, and Schoor washers.

What do you mean start wearing really tight shorts?

This was an error msg. that was generated internal to Pelican - same voice as on the hold msg.

Sounds like Paul's was an error in connecting to Pelican.

I think my cals were between 3pm and 4:30 but not sure.

BTW, my Email got thru so it should be on the truck out tomorrow.

Wayne,

While we are on the topic of CV's and washers I think there is a typo/error in the catalog for these items.

In the catalog http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_suspen_pg10.htm#item42 you have listed

K-523-103-01 CV Joint Lock Washer, 911 (1975-early 75)
J-027-015-02 CV Joint Lock Washer, 911 (1984-86)
C-332-191-00 CV Joint Backing Plate, 2 per joint, 911 (1974-mid 1975)

Where is the the right washers and backing plates for a '78SC?

The backing plates (c-332-191-00) is different and listed for 74-89 if you find it from a search CLICK HERE . My '78 for example has 8mm hardware and this item did not fit my CV joints. I have since been helped to resolve this error by Jason but I thought that I should mention it now that it has come up.

I'll have Eugene check it out and fix the catalog if it needs it.

its like yogi berra said once, "that place got too popular, so no one goes there anymore".

meaning?-- the place was the best before they got really busy, now with everyone there it takes longer so its not the little secret it used to be..

its like orchard supply and home depot, there are certain things you go to each place for, like fasteners nuts/bolts/nails would be a OSH run, a sink/ plumbing fixture would be depot, glue or caulking osh, lumber HD, gardening ohs, doors/windows HD. my point is that there are things i will only expect pelican to serve me with, and there are other items that other outfits meet my needs better. its up to you to figure what works best.

could i live without pelican? well NO!
