any 16, 18, or 21 mm nuts or bolts on 911??
Are 16, 18, or 21 mm fasteners used anywhere on these cars?
I'm think of making some room in my tool cabinet and clearing out some Snap-Off wrenches. I can't find anywhere that these sizes are used.... |

I can't think of any 16s or 18s, but it seems like I just used a 21, can't remember where. Bumper nuts, maybe?

I know for a fact that I haven't used a 21, since I don't own one. I do own sockets and wrenches in 16 and 18 mm sizes, but they haven't been used either. I haven't even come close to touching every fastener on the car though, so don't throw them out based on my word!

Randy, don't know the answer but if your luck is like mine, you will find those bolt sizes in some critical area a week after you sell them

There's a couple of 16's on the engine. I think one of the cam oil line needs a 16mm to hold it when tightening.

Thanks, I will take the 16 mm off my sell list.
Harry - Yup - I am familiar with this phenomenon (it probably has a name), but gonna do it anyway. |

16 and 18 for weber fuel fitting banjo bolt and capnut to access the float valve. can't think of any 21s.

Methinks a 21mm wrench is used on the #6 hose connections on the AC system.

An adjustable wrench will work just fine on most of these "big" sizes.

Thx, John - Didn't know you were a Dead Head...
So it, sounds like things one does not need are: 20, 23, 25,26, 28, 29, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37 & up... |
