Fitting SSi's/Dansk 2 in 2 out to a 3.2 Carrera

Fitted the SSi's at the weekend - no real problems/difficulty at all. However on fitting the Dansk 2 in - 2 out, a problem has developed.
Basically the seam that runs round the silencer joining the 2 havles together is clashing with the lower pully casing. I have tried 'folding' the seam where its touching but this is not working - still not enough clearance. Today I am planning to remove part of the seam where required tho clear the casing and weld the silencer halves back together.
Has anyone else had this problem

Had the same problem when I went to install my Dansk 2-in 1-out muffler to my 3.2 with SSI's. I ended up measuring the width I needed to clear the pulley cover and then beat the seam down flat. Worked for me. Later I discovered that apparently I had a Dansk muffler for an early 911 and that the proper muffler for the 3.2 already has the material cut away to clear the puller cover.

Kurt - that sounds spot on - tried beating it flat but stainless is not the most ductile so I will go ahead with the cut/weld.

Rob, I should have mentioned that I heated the muffler seam up with an oxy/acy torch prior to the beating!

Kurt - A bloke on the night shift say's he will cut/weld it no problem - think I'll let him run with it - if he cannot get it completed by the weekend - I will try the heating method.
Cheers
