Quick York Compressor A/C Question... again
Hey all...
This should be a easy question, and I feel dumb asking it, but I'm just not familiar with the York compressors on the SC a/c systems... There are two valves that open and close the high and low ports on the a/c compressor. Which way is open and which way is closed (ie,. normally threaded as you would think or reverse threaded). I ask because my a/c didn't work when I got the car and I'm in the process of charging it up. The valves appeared to be neither all the way clockwise nor were they all the way (fully rotated) counter-clockwise. Thanks in advance, TonyG |

Thanks for the quick reply!
That link provided the info needed. I now have my '82SC with bone stock factory A/C on a 83F day (in the shade.. in my garage), putting out at the center vent 39F at 2000 rpms after 5 minutes... using R134A with 40oz installed liquid, on the low side after 30 minutes of vacuum applied to 28" Not bad... Who said 911 a/c was horrible anyway? :-) Thanks again, TonyG |
