I pissed off a bunch of speed trap guys by not getting snagged.. One guy tried to sneak up behind very tactically. It was night so he knew I couldn't size up my rear car. about 5mi past the trap was a bunch of slow twisties.. he tried to sneak closer while I was supposed to be occupied by the turning.. he would speed up, then pace when I had him in the mirror. it finally registered what was happening and I pulled off the road. maybe he got a 1/2mi before I took cover. He passed and stared at me. On his return past me he didn't even look. I try not to disturb anyone, but I have also thought that I pissed him off enough to do that.
Our cars are magnets, especially with NY plates in western US imo.

Three years ago, on the way to the Hershey swap meet our caravan was approached by an unmarked car in NJ. We were not speeding at the time. The cop pulls over a car in the middle of our 9 or so car line and gives him a ticket. For what? Having a radar detector on the windshield. They are legal in NJ, but the ticket was for "obstruction of view". If they want to get you, they can always find a way. I have a concealed monitor attached to the top of my steering column, right at the bottom of my tach/boost gauge. In my opinion it's worth the added expense.
