who's Porsches on Mulholland
i usually save my canyon driving for early weekday mornings; but decided to get out of the city this Sat and Sunday to check out the action on Mulholland drive. managed to snap a few pics of some p-cars.
I met the owner of the nice red-ish SC, the silver 996, and the red-ish Boxster. Any of the other owners lurk here?? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I was up there tonight between 6:00 and 6:30. Saw a brand new GT2 on the way back (on Sunset).
I was testing to see how much the bruising from my karting day would hurt in the Recaro seat. It hurt. ![]()

I was up there on Sat. There were a bunch of cars at the top of Stunt Road. Saw a yellow GT3, may have been Noel. Quite a few crotch rockets. Did the dance with a couple of Scoobies on the way down. Luv the smell of race fuel exhaust

Motion, SoCal move is looking unlikely, as the lady's job situation did not pan out as expected. Now it's looking like my job will send me to Dallas or Austin. If I could afford SoCal, I'd be there like yesterday. But money is still an object for me.

Rick --> don't know about Dallas, but there are many of us Porsche folks that luv Austin. I'm stuck in the salt flats of Houston, but get up to Austin every chance I get (2hr drive). Yea I know, Austin doesn't have the views of the Pacific, but there's Lake Travis, which ain't a bad substitute. Not as many Porsches as SoCal, but cost of living is definitely better. Every penny saved on real estate is a penny that can go into the Porsche!

Jeremy, my boss is letting me have my pick of Dallas or Austin. Fiancee has family in Dallas and I used to live there, so it's leaning that way at the moment. But Austin is still very possible. I can't believe how cheap real estate is there. It's about 1/3 of what it is here and here is probably 1/2 of what it is in SoCal. Coming from VA, I also want to move to a very gun-friendly state. Still, I've driven Mulholland Dr. and it's just so awesome. I will live in CA someday.

Rick - in my very limited experience, I'd pick Austin.
At least it has a bit of "geography" (i.e. hills). ![]()

what!?!?! you guys went up again and I didn't know?!?!?! We should set up a time and place to meet every weekend for anyone who's going canyon carving up there. If nobody shows up, oh well, just a few minutes waiting.

Hello Howard,
thanks for slowing down your mid -engined Porsche enough today to let me get a clear shot!! ![]() ![]() ![]() the 'new improved' mid engine Porsche let me get a pic too. ![]() ![]() The sound of the Carrera GT and the Ferrari 360 Modena coming through the canyons was sweet!! Scott, my drive today as well as the one a couple weeks ago was just a solo effort on my part. More for the photo-ops than the canyon carving. I tend to do the latter during the week when the roads are quiet. max
