1979 930 on Barrett Jackson auto search show

Not sure if this is old news but I caught 3 minutes of that Barrett Jackson show this morning where they go around buying cars at as close to wholesale as possible and make the sellers (and buyers) look like tools....

Guy was selling a '79 red 930 that none of the BJ guys knew a thing about for $29.9....they were chuckling as they lifted the front trunk carpets saying "I saw this guy do this one time do you mind if we pull up the carpets" what an a-hole....

Anyway my 2 year old started whining when he realized I changed the channel from disney or some such thing and whined until I changed it back so anyone know what happened?

I've kinda been following the show. It's a mess.

They passed on the Turbo because they wouldn't pay the price and the guy wasn't anxious to sell.

They need to pay a lowboall price and then all the difference goes to charity. What BJ doesn't do is add their normal 25% or so of seller and buyer fees that would make any kind of real profit impossible.

They're looking at some pretty strange cars (like the AMC Rebel) that I just can't relate to. I think they did pick up a Dino Ferrari from some poor guy in desperate financial straits.

Mostly it's just one big infomercial for BJ, but hey, it makes an affordable and entertaining show for Speed.

Cool

I'm real happy that those guys didn't make the buy on the turbo.

I see a real attitude on the part of these chizzlers. I'm used to seeing these guys coming. I'm real familiar with the attitude. I see it in wholesalers that purchase used cars at the auction. I really like to stick it to them. I go to the auctions with a couple of buddies that specalize in buying "pushers." These are ones that won't make it through the auction under their own power. By specializing in certain makes and models my friends do very well in relation to the above mentioned sharpies. I recently watched them buy a 2002 Camaro for $1900. I put a fresh battery in it and drove it home!
