I have a storage, transit and paddock policy from them through Parish Heacock. Car is not covered on the track, however.

I bought that DE policy at the beginning of the year for my DE season. It was only a couple hundred $$$s.

I used to have it, and probably should again. They don't cover timed events (which is reasonable, I guess), but I've heard they're pleasant to deal with if you make a claim.

The basic deal is about $20,000 of coverage for $300 a year. The deductible is high (20%), which means you only really use it in the case of a catastrophe.

But if the worst happens, a $16,000 check would ease the pain, somewhat.

(Edit: fixed deductable amount.)

Here is a link for more information. Note that the insurance is only available in a limited number of states.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I know some guys (including probably myself) who would be interested in this if it was offered in CO. I sent an email to them to that effect.

If it's not covered while on the track, then what's the point?
Theft maybe??

John Cramer's policy doesn't cover it on the track.

The basic American Collector's DE policy does cover the car on the track -- so long as it's not a timed event.

So what insurance is best for cars that do get tracked about 5 times a year? DO I drop my current insurance or is this in addition to the current policy?

I believe it's an addition to your normal policy. You just have to decide whether the rate they quote you (perhaps ~$300/yr as jack said) is worth it for that protection during your 5 events per year.

I'm about to pull the trigger on this. Anyone know of a better deal? For $922 I get up to $45k coverage with a $6750 deductible for 10 DE days per year. Basically, this policy doubles the cost of each DE. Worth it? Something better out there?

I had American Collectors and had to settle a claim when a tree fell on two cars in my garage - both totaled. Wrote me a check, no questions asked!

Was curious about the timed events - does that mean you are not covered in AX, but will be covered in DE's?
