How Fast Did You Go TODAY?
I'll start: hit a comfortable 133MPH in the Cayenne trying to keep up with a ratted-out Pontiac Tempest on the Interstate. This guy was nuts. But he made for a good rabbit and I stayed back a good 1/4 - 1/2 mile, just in case his motor fell out or something. Actually, he wasn't doing 133, but I would slow down to 85 or so everytime we'd pass a car and he kept his foot in it at about 105. So I had to catch back up a few times ..... we did about 50 miles of this ..... who needs an airplane?

I did a buck 10 on the way to work right in front of the big Boeing plant here in Everett on my way to work and another buck 20 on my way home. Both were very short spurs with the top off.
There is just something about doin' speed at this spot that just kicks it for me. Might have something to do with large comercial jets mixed with small(er) military aircraft/jets taking off and landing right over my office all day long. YMMV.

Get lasered at that speed on the interstate and it's the last you'll see of that Cayenne and your license. I have been advised to enjoy that kind of speed only on a track and it was wise advice. Be careful.

Well, about 80 unfortunately. The little bastard will supposedly top out at 120 or so, but so far have only hit about 100, probably not quite. The norm is 80. I really miss the quick blasts up to 100+ that were so easy in the 911.

115 on a shakedown run. Or I could just be exagerating....what's the statute of limitations on speeding anyway?

When I'm on the highway, (as Masraum said) just the occasional quick blast up to about 100. But that's about it, I rarely take it faster.

100 on the 73 yesterday for a 1/4 mile. It was nothing, the rest of the traffic was doing 85, about the norm for Orange County. I was just trying to find a spot to move over and get off. 110 might have been conspicuous.
![]() I go down toward Newport Beach as little as possible, but the Boxster gets to see some of it's bretheren down there. At one signal there were 3 and a 996. It gets lonely here in the getto. You gotta feel sorry for the poor thing. |

90mph on my commute yesterday. Helga is running great after I replaced the rear shocks, motor mounts, fuel lines and vacuum hoses. I missed "Porsches to Pinckney", but I couldn't get the parts replaced in time.
