Desperate to fix this car before sale
I have everything PERFECT with this 1986 911 Coupe except the damn Sunroof which I cannot figure out for the life of me.
The sunroof motor will not so much as budge this thing while the ever-ripping headliner is attached to it. (When hand cranking it, it moves but it takes some muscle) With the headliner detached and pushed back and out of the way, the motor moves it like butter EXCEPT when it gets to the closing point where it wont make the extra effort to push the roof up and fully closed. Here is a pic of where it stops upon closing (headliner not attached) Here is a pic of the roof from inside, headliner detached: And here is the final problem: EVEN when i push up from inside the car to make the roof fully close, im still left with this, the roof jutting up in the front left corner: PLEASE HELP, thanks PS: On the general market, approx how much would it devalue this otherwise perfect car to have an inoperable sunroof?? -Matt |

Hey, I have a dumb sunroof question...
My car doesn't seem to have a limit switch so when I open the roof, it opens until a noise like ratchets slipping occurs. I then take my finger off the switch. Shouldn't there be a limit switch in there?

Even if it takes some time and money it is in your best interest to fix the sunroof before selling the car. Anybody who knows 911s even a little bit will beat you up on the price over something that can be fixed relatively inexpensively.

it sounds like the tracks aren't aligned right or something is jammed into them
somebody here has got to know how to figure this out |
